41 Scarves!

These are the 41 scarves we received from the Oklahoma State Fair this year. What a great collection! Thank you to each person that took the time to create a scarf and donate it through the fair.

It was pretty neat to be able to see them all together at our Work Day on Sunday and really check them out and think about how we thought they were created.

It’s tough to get a good picture of them at the fair. Especially this year, they were pretty crowded in the display case. But I tried. Here it is:

We also got a close up of the “Best in Show”. This one received a lot of attention when we were together looking at them Sunday.

At pickup, the fair representative told me that next year they may need to find a bigger section in the display for us! What a great challenge.

Any scarves made starting now that the fair is over can be submitted next year. I hope you’ll keep that in mind as you continue crafting and planning on what to create and donate to comfort others.

One of the special things that has come from being part of the State Fair is that new people learn about the work we’re doing. Two years in a row now, we’ve had people find their way to our monthly work day after learning about us at the State Fair. I consider that a huge success!

As always, please join us if you can! Whether you can join us or not on the first Sunday of the month in Edmond, you’re welcome to create scarves and get them to us to be packaged and delivered to the YWCA so that they can provide comfort.
